Motion Graphics 4 | Masking

Could not think of a witty title

Today we mostly did layer masking!
Was quite simple, just add a mask to the layer, craw out the shape of the mask and decide on the parameters to use such as;

Click layer > add mask

Intersect- when 2 mask cross the intersection is the area displayed by the mask.
Add – area inside the mask is shown.
Subract – area inside the mask is hidden.

There are also more option for the mask in the propertys such as;
Feather – blurs the edge of the mask, creates a nice blend
Expand – grows ofr shrinks the mask (good for use with feather as the blur can reach slightly past the mask border.

Masks can be made from any paths, motion, shape etc. These can be imported from Illustrator or Photoshop.
