A few simple mock ups of our ideas, Our App and Wrist Guide. I also uncluded my Collector Cards idea.
The guide will fold out to reveal a pamphlet that on one side shows a day by day guide to the events taking place throughout the week.
The other side would be a map of the area showing key information and locations of events.
The idea would be to also turn this into a collectable, different designs for different days, featuring illustrations of the kids key characters, clarence. They could also be link in with the treasure hunt idea, perhaps showing a different set of clues each day to encourage competition and repeat interest. Alternativly they could be used as a method of collecting stickers or badges, which our research indicated would provide enthusiasm for attending events to collect the items.
What we would also be interested in would be to have them illustrated by children from the local schools. By getting the local children involved early we will build up enthusiasm and and hopefully introduce a whole new audience, and their families to the events and characters. Parent of the children who get involved in this project will want to come to the events to collect the guides.
The cards i really love and feel would work really well, unfortunatly failed to convince the majority of the group for the vote. They would be a very visual way of engaging with the local youth and attracting them to the event. Again i had the idea to ask local schools if they would be interested in illustrating their favorite characters and events from Broadstairs Folk Festival. Again by getting the local children we would build up enthusiasm and and hopefully introduce a whole new audience, and their families to the event. In addition the children, and parents of the children who got involved with the project would want to come to the events to collect the cards.
